Workspaces and team
What a workspace is, roles, inviting people, seats, and your account settings.
Workspaces
Everything you do lives in a workspace: research, books, covers, credits, tracking. You own one from the day your account was created, and you can belong to others — an agency's customer workspace, a colleague's — through the switcher at the bottom of the sidebar.
Roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including billing. Exactly one per workspace. |
| Admin | The work and the team — invite, remove, change roles — but not billing. |
| Member | The work: research, write, track. Not the team. |
| Viewer | Read only. |
Inviting people
Settings → Workspace → Members. Invite by email and choose a role. Someone who already has an account gets an invitation to accept; someone who does not is set up on the spot — their login is emailed to them and they land in your workspace with the role you chose.
Seats
Seats are counted as members plus open invitations. The Starter includes the owner; the Agency License adds ten. When you run out, the refusal names the upgrade that adds seats.
Your account
- Profile — your name and email.
- Security — password, two-factor authentication, passkeys, active sessions.
- Billing — your plan, what you hold, the credit ledger, and the upgrades you do not hold yet.
- Activity — what has been done in the workspace and by whom.
- KDP extension — install and sign in the Chrome extension. See The KDP extension.
A shared preview login
If you were given a preview login to try the product before promoting it, three things are limited on it and nothing else: it writes one chapter per book, narrates a hundred words a day, and its name, email and password cannot be changed. A full account has none of these limits.
