Credits
What costs credits, what doesn't, how the monthly allowance works, and what happens on failure.
Credits are the meter on everything the app writes or draws. Planning, reading and browsing are free; generation costs, and every button that spends says its price first.
What costs credits
Chapters, outlines and briefs; cover artwork; the listing kit; every marketing piece; narration; research concepts; fetching and reading a transcript. Each is its own step with its own price, shown on the button.
What is free
Opening a book. Reading your book back. Browsing research you already ran, and repeating a keyword within twelve hours. Re-setting the type on a cover. Building the print cover wrap. Exporting files. The royalty calculator. Tracking, alerts, the advisor.
The monthly allowance
Your account carries a monthly allowance set by what you hold — the Starter's 20,000 credits, plus whatever the Unlimited or Agency upgrades add. It is topped up at the start of each billing month. The dashboard shows the balance as a fuel gauge, and the billing page lists every grant and spend with a reason you can read.
Credits added by a purchase mid-month arrive at once; the next month's top-up counts only the tiers you still hold.
Two pools: monthly first, extra credits last
Your balance is two pools shown as one number. The monthly pool holds the allowance and whatever a tier includes. The extra pool holds credit packs you bought and any top-up from support — those never expire. Every spend draws the monthly pool down first and touches extra credits only for what is left, so extra credits sit untouched until the allowance is gone. The billing page shows the split beside the total.
Buying extra credits
Three sizes of credit pack are sold on the billing page. Buy one as often as you like; the credits arrive within minutes of the purchase clearing and stay until used.
When a promotion is running, the pack carries bonus credits on top of its size — the billing page shows the bonus beside each pack and the total you will receive. Bonus credits are ordinary extra credits once they arrive: same pool, no expiry, spent only after your monthly allowance is gone. If you refund a pack, the bonus goes back with it.
Spend first, refund on failure
Every generation is charged before it is queued, so you are never charged for something that could not start. If the AI fails, returns nothing usable, or the step errors, the charge is refunded automatically and the button asks again. An unusable result is never stored.
Running out
A book paused for credits says so on its page and resumes from the same stage after a top-up. A monthly series (Auto-Pilot) emails you once when it stops, not every hour. Nothing already written is lost.
Budgets
Each book can carry a credit budget. When it is reached the book pauses rather than spending past what you set.
