The KDP extension

A Chrome extension that fills KDP's title-setup pages from a book, and reports the ASIN back.

The extension pours a book's details, keywords, categories, trim, files and starting price into Amazon KDP's three title-setup pages while you stay signed in to KDP. It never presses Save or Publish — every field it fills is on screen for you to check, and you continue yourself.

Install it

  1. In the app: Settings → KDP extension → Download the extension. Unzip it somewhere permanent; Chrome loads it from that folder.
  2. Open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode (top right), press Load unpacked, and pick the unzipped folder.
  3. Pin the extension (puzzle icon → pin).

Sign it in

  1. Settings → KDP extension → Make a token. Name it after the browser. Copy the token — it is shown once.
  2. Click the extension icon, paste the token, press Sign in. The popup shows your name and workspace and lists your written books.

Each browser gets its own token. Revoke one in Settings and that browser is signed out.

Fill each KDP page

On KDP, open Bookshelf → Create → Paperback (or an existing draft). On each step, open the popup, pick the book, press Fill this page, and read the report.

KDP step What is filled What is left for you
Details Language, title, subtitle, pen name (from the cover's author name), description, up to seven keywords, publishing rights, adult content = no Categories — KDP's picker is a dialog; the report lists the categories to choose. Series and edition.
Content Free KDP ISBN, ink and paper, trim size, bleed, cover finish; then the interior PDF and cover wrap attached to KDP's upload slots KDP's own preview — run it as usual
Pricing A starting list price, with our royalty estimate beside it Territories, KDP Select, other marketplaces

The extension fills fields the way a person types, so KDP's own checks run as you go. It reports exactly what it filled and what it left.

After you publish

When KDP assigns the ASIN, open Mark as published in the popup, choose the format, paste the ASIN, Record. The book appears on Monitor as yours — at once if the catalogue already knows the ASIN, otherwise the first time it is researched.

Ready to publish

Books the extension can fill unaided are marked ✓ and sorted to the top of the picker. A book is ready when it has its chapters, its listing kit, a cover and the print cover wrap; pick one that is not and the popup says exactly what it still needs. The same list, with links to finish each one, is the Publishing page in your account.

What the extension needs from a book

  • Written chapters, for the manuscript files.
  • The listing kit, for the description, keywords and categories — generate it on the book's page.
  • A finished cover, and its print wrap for paperback.

The popup says which of these a book has before you press Fill.

Privacy

The extension runs only on kdp.amazon.com pages and only talks to your account's server. It reads nothing from KDP except the form it fills, and stores only your token in the browser.
